3 x Birthday Songs

This post is super outdated but I thought I would blog abt it just for the record... :P

On the eve of Mr Chan's bd, i sneaked to the kitchen and made this......

That was birthday song no 1...
After he blew out the candle, it was back to his games and time for me to hit the bed.... :P

Knowing how much my dear friend appreciates fine-dining, this year I planned for a crab-dinner @ Nosignboard Seafood... No airconditioning, no-frills, no signboard... Just simply very good seafood...

Of course we ordered their Signature White Pepper Crab....

And the Salted Egg Yolk Crab...
2 Kg of crab - divided among 2 flavours and whopped up by the 2 of us... Yumz...

Here's the REAL birthday cake... Birthday Song No 2
Which we cut up and enjoyed with the view at Mount Faber...

Jewel Box - Mount Faber

The next day, we took leave to bring the kids out.... They got a surprise when we appeared @ the guardhouse! Their mum didn't tell them we were coming!

Lunch @ Carl's Junior....
I just realised the suggestive text on the poster... :P

Shu shu's duty was to buy food... Mine was to bring the kids to the loo and be back in time in time for the food to arrive...
The crinkle-fries monster, who just didn't want any burgers but heaps of fries...
The sweetest part was when we were done with the food, Miss Belle asked me to pour the lemon tea into Laura's waterbottle. She wants to bring it home as a gift for Mummy.
Then it was just hanging out at Toys'R Us till the movie (Planet 51) start....
The King and his 2 Princesses...
This is Belle, caught in the act of bullying jiejie...
Shu Shu's Earthquake Ice-cream "Cake"...
The difference between us and kids? Kids sing birthday songs loudly without any inhibition... So yea, Shu Shu got a big birthday song from the girls... That marked Birthday Song No 3!

Laura is such a good photographer! check out this photo she took of us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHU SHU RANDY!!!!!!!

We LOVE u!!!

Tokyo Food Log - Day 7

As with all good things that have to come to an end, so were our happy days in Japan.
Day 7 marked the last day of our trip... We had only half a day left to stuff our faces with whatever food our stomach could possibly accommodate before we leave for our flight home.

Okonomoyaki was the last item on my TO-EAT list that we've not eaten on this trip. So we hunted this Okonomoyaki place for a Japanese-style cabbage pancake brunch....

For the first time during the trip, we couldn't finish the food! The portion was just too much and we cussed that we shld've just ordered 1 to share.... :P

I came across this very very pretty cake shop a few days back. I made a mental note to come back. And here we are for desserts after all that Okonomoyaki.... -(*_*)-

We had a huge problem deciding which cake to sink our forks into. Randy as usual goes for the berries-variation. I took the peach tart. (Check out the crystals bits on the peach tart... It is THAT intricate!)

That concludes the end of our TOKYO FOOD LOG!

Back to Singapore, as we unpacked our crazy luggages, here's some of the food stuff that we lugged back..........................

The Daifuku were just yumz! Not too sweet, chewy enough.... Delish!

We queued up for a long time 4 these... With the expectations raised on the Gateau, we kept ourselves in great suspense, not opening this up to eat during the trip....

Peko Milk Candy....
When I was a small kid, my mum would buy me a tin of Peko candies as reward when i'm a good girl.... Ohh, the memories of childhood...
When we got to the Peko girl store in Ginza, Randy decided to buy me the JUMBO tin version... He also bought me the "melt-away" version (in round container - extreme right)... He knows I love milk candies... :)

This version has to be refrigerated or consumed within 2 hrs. We paid $10 for 10 intricately wrapped piece.... *EXPENSIVE!*

Some other Peko merchandise...
We saw this box of thingy at the supermarket... Curious to know what's inside, we bought one...
It was a box full of pretty nice tasting egg-cake...

Also in the Luggage...
Seasonings, sauces & other cooking stuff....
POCKY!

I tried the white chocolate Daifuku & I thot it tastes like Snow! Actually it taste like very nice vanilla chocolate wrapped rice balls...

Full House!

So how did we manage to lug ALL that snacks (+ Uniqlo clothings + X'mas presents + toiletries etc etc) in our bags? Here's how....
We squeezed all of our shopping into our luggages... Which made the luggages EXTREMELY heavy...

And becoz it cost S$400 to catch a cab to the airport, I DRAGGED these 4 bags with me from the hotel to the subway station... carried them up & down flights & flights of stairs within the train station (there r NO escalators) that I thought I was going to dislocate my arms from my shoulder....... (-_-!!!)

At 8 degrees temperature, I was panting & sweating...
Randy had even more bags to carry. I think he almost died carrying them. All he could say was "FREAK... FREAK... FREAK...." till we got to the airport & almost missed our flight.

HOs @ Cozy Bay

The Hos swang by Cozy Bay for dinner with us last week (as promised)...

(Blame it on my skills, but i think both of u look chubby in this photo lei.... hahaha)

It was great to have such a good chat with them and to get updated on what they were doing with their holiday break in Sg....!!! I think staying in Brisbane didn't make them any laid-back at all... Faith's working as a Sar-Kar (literally: 3 leg...) Not because she's really sar kar, but because what the poor girl's doing now needs more than a pair of legs (& 2 pairs of hands) to complete!
And both of them are spotted at every parties, weddings, events... Boon Yeow's been leading worship since he's been back... Cutting them no slack!

Faith introduced us to a game called Snorta....

Which got us pretty excited & laughing so loudly that my neighbour came over to tell us to lower our voices.... *oops*

And then we came up with more bright ideas to improvise this game and to increase the difficulty. Hahahaa....

Looking back, Faith & Boon were probably the first few people I knew when I first came to church, gone through the same cell group together, served in youth together.... I think Faith was also one of the matchmaker that kinda saw our courtship took flight 8 yrs ago....

How time flies!!!!!!!!!!

Tokyo Food Log - Day 5 & 6

We absolutely did not enjoy breakfast... There is simply no element of surprise. Every morning we wake up knowing that we'll be greeted by scrambled eggs, bacon, grilled saba fish, miso soup, salad and corn flakes. *Yawns*

That's why, after breakfast, we made our rounds to the convenience store to explore the more-excitings....

DAY 5's Food Log

We had breakfast (x 3) on Day 5...
1) In the hotel
2) Fried chicken
3) Look below

My new favourite cake is now THE MONT BLANC. It's made from Japanese Chestnut and fresh cream. Yummilicious!!!!!

We had to walk away all that food and guess what we found during our stroll? A really good Canon Digicam deal!!! We paid S$300 for a brand new 10mpx Canon cam that's retailing for $499 in Singapore. Whoopppp!!!!! After that, we felt happy and decided to eat again!

After lunch, we wanted snacks. So we ate.... AGAIN.

Then it turned really dark at 4.30pm. Lights out completely. So it was dinner time....

Day 5's Supper............

Are you scared yet?! All that food in a day!!!!!!!!!!

DAY 6 - We tried... Very very hard to wake up at 5am for the Tsukiji fish market auction... We obviously did not succeed... :P
Since there was no more auction, Randy decided that 9am was a good time to have HEAVY rice bowls for breakfast at the Tsukji outer market.

I'm not complaining... The above was huge in portion and very de-lish...
Then it was 12pm - LUNCH TIME!!!!

Down with Day 7 left.... We were almost sad to leave all the good food behind to head home....!!! :(
